Why does my emac optical drive open as soon as I shut it?

I recently bought an emac and it has all the correct requirements needed to run Leopard 10.5 but every time I put the Leopard DVD in the optical drive and close it, it just reopens. The computer says that it can read DVD's so why does it keep spitting the install DVD out?

Thank you in advance!

Hello, I thought it was the right DVD.

But here are the specs on the eMac:

Model: eMac

Processor: PowerPC G4

Processing speed: 1.0 GHz

Operating system: 10.2.8

Bus speed: 133 MHz

CD-ROM: CD/R-RW & DVD-R

Other than these specs I couldn't find anything else because I don't know how to work Jaguar that well.

But why does this computer keep spitting the Leopard Install DVD out everytime I put it in?

Thank you so much for helping me!

Thank you so much! I did what you told me but what I did was I put the Leopard Install DVD inside the CD tray and shut it and held it in there with my hand so it couldn't eject itself. Then I booted it from scratch and held down the option key. When the boot menu came up it had both the hard drive as an option and the Leopard Installed DVD as one too!

Thank you for all your help!

Why does my emac optical drive open as soon as I shut it?
