iPod Mini Menu Button Not Working!

Hello, my iPod Mini is really scrwing up. Firstly, the menus button doesn't work. To go back on the screen (in other words, the job of the menu button) I have to toggle the hold switch. The backing light comes on often when I have it set to be off, and the play button won't hold to switch it off.

I am very annoyed as this is the iPod Mini that Apple sent me around a month or two ago which I paid the £75 or goodness knows for the repairing of the battery. I don't want to pay a further £75 for an issue that wasn't my fault and is this soon after getting the new one.

I have the same problem with my mini. I have completed the 5 r's to reset my mini. I have even gone as far as draining the battery completely. I have the exact same symptoms as jonjubschmitt.

Symptoms
1. Menu button doesn't work to return you to the previous menu, but the menu button does work when you are trying to reset the ipod.

2. Toggling the hold switch allows me to return to the previous menu but the backlight comes on when you toggle the hold switch.

3. Holding down the play/pause button does not turn off the ipod.

I have also plugged my ipod into a power source (computer) and I still have no use of the menu button.

Does anyone have any further ideas on this one?

There are. And there should be until September or so of this year and if they bought AppleCare, September or so next year.

However, this is not helpful to you.

It is possible that you have a hardware problem that will require repair. If you've tried the Five R's as you say you have, then it likely is a hardware issue. Do you live near an Apple store?
