iTunes Can no longer export MP3 . . . ?

How can I convert the current file format iTunes uses to MP3 ? I am stuck, My car will only read MP3 Files

Mac all the way

iTunes can still convert to MP3, but the procedure has changed slightly due to the elimination of the Advanced menu in iTunes 11. Here are the updated instructions:

The new procedure is a poor substitute for the sort of Export feature iTunes used to have. Apple, please go back and get out the old use cases and make sure you still support them.
