My mail was reset somehow and now I've lost all my inboxes and emails. How do I get these back??

There was some sort of power failure and all the computers in my office turned off. When we turned them back on all were fine except one which had its Mail reset and all of the inboxes had been wiped.
How do I retrieve them? It's vital I have access to past emails.

If there's no backup, just reenter your mail accounts and passwords in Mail > preferences > accounts. If that doesn't work, go to applications > utilities > keychain access and do keychain first aid (it's under the keychain access menu).

And once you get your mail back: do a backup with time machine!
