ipod says error message

my ipod classic keeps coming up with a red circle with cross in it with apple.com/support/ipod

tried restarting etc nothing helps

please advise

Is this when it is plugged into a computer? If that is the case, it could be syncing your ipod. If not, maybe it does not recognize the hard disk for some reason.

it doesnt show up when connected to my pc

so think its the hard disk , is there a solution for this as i have tried the solutions stated

Ok. Go to a nearby apple store and go to the genius bar. They will tell you what you need.

Not that I can think of. I am now almost sure it is the hard disk.
