Nokia N70 and Bluetooth File Exchange

Hi,

I've recently bought a Nokia N70 and wish to transfer pictures I have taken on the phone to my MacBook.

With my previous phone (Nokia 6230i), I used Bluetooth File Exhange which always worked perfectly but for some reason, it wont show the N70 phone contents. The N70 and the MacBook pair and iSync works fine but when I select "Browse Device" for the N70, it comes up "Operation Complete" and shows nothing.

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro 15" 1.83 GHz 1.5Gb Ram, Mac OS X (10.4.6)

The only way I have managed to work around this problem is to send pictures individually from my N70 to the laptop via bluetooth. Go to a picture in the N70's Gallery, click "options", then "send" then "via bluetooth". Then select your MacBook. This takes a bit more time but works fine.

I have googled, and searched this forum, but only figured out how to send one file at a time from my Nokia 6600 to my MacBook Pro.
This is sending images one at the time from the gallery on the phone to my Mac. It is not quite reliable, and I seem to need to quit the gallery to make the next image transfer.

The bluetooth file exchange does not give any error messages, but neither it shows any files on the phone.

Any tips appreciated.

The multiple selection on the Nokia does work, and using this I can send more than one image to my Mac in one go. I have used the bluetooth exchange browser on my Sony Ericsson phone, which is more convenient, so I overlooked this alternative.

It does work, even when it takes some time to go through the options of the menu and mark each of your selected/special photos. Nevertheless, never try to do it while connected with "Bluetooth File exchange", it won't work.

Well I suppose we will have to wait for an official patch or upgrade for BFE but no one mentioned a word about "Address Book" guess what? it does not work neither!

Thanks for the tip about not having the BFE open while sending from the phone. It could explain some of my troubles.
I have filed the bug to Apple (Bug ID# 4619457) with a good description.

I've had this very same problem too. Like Henrik mentioned, there is actually a work around to transfer all of your pictures in one go. There's a video demo explaining this work around in details over at the apple files.

Excellent video! This is a hard workaround to describe but this does it nicely.

I filed it as a bug report to Apple and they did look at it. They told me that Bluetooth File Exchange works as it should. Indirectly this is a hint that Nokia does not follow the Bluetooth standards.
