Other than the battery not charging, when it is connected to the computer, does it operate normally? Does it sync? Does it Restore (if you tried that)? Does it work as a "disk" (mini external drive), if you Enable disk use?

Apr 27, 2013 5:21 AM in response to car_man58by car_man58,I've tried different cords ,USB ports as well as the home charger plug in , wont restore, n won't sinc. With any of my computers , I've had 5 Ipods n have never had this issue . In very good condition , originally said it was set up for Mac if this makes a diff ? I reset it for windows n it was good for awhile ?

Apr 27, 2013 12:41 PM in response to car_man58by Kenichi Watanabe,No, it does not matter if it was previously used with a Mac. That's just a matter of the hard drive disk format being used. It just gets reformatted during a Restore.
It sounds like the problem is more than just the battery not charging. At the very least, you need it to complete a Restore. Try putting into Disk Mode

Optionally, shut down your computer and disconnect all of your USB devices. Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected.
Run iTunes and connect iPod to a direct USB on computer. If the iPod's battery is too low to put into Disk Mode while disconnected, connect it first, then try to put it into Disk Mode. If iTunes sees the iPod in Disk Mode, it may say something about "recovery" and prompt you to do a Restore.
