How to delete header box at top of pages?
No one has yet told me how to delete the header box at the top of the New Pages. HOW do I get an answer?

ok..... how do you open the Document Inspector ? I don't see it.
I hate Pages, worked with Word for so many years, have a Mac I love but Pages - eeek 😟
You need to give your Pages version, and none can tell you until you have asked.
I assume you are using Pages 5 something, although if you are actually using Mavericks, you do not have the latest which is Pages 5.5.2 and only runs on Yosemite.
Toolbar > Document > Page Orientation > Uncheck Header

Aha Peter, I just checked I have version 4.3 (1048) thank you, I managed to do it and of course it was easy once I worked out what 'inspector' was, I did love "Word" but I prefer my MacBook Air to my old PC. I have no idea what Yosemite is and to think I taught computer studies in my past (dim and distant) but these things change so fast ! & I hardly ever need to use Pages so havent had time to get to know it, when I have time I will try to run through tutorials, will save me time in long run. Thanks
Barry,
Apple has shuffled the deck chairs, and the link to the Pages User Guide in the Pages '09 v4.3 Help Menu no longer points where it used too. Instead, this link will put you on a page that offers Pages '08, Pages '09, and Numbers '09 User Guides for direct download.
The new (v5 series) Pages allows you to turn off the tripartite header/footer via the Toolbar > Document side panel. Simply uncheck Header and Footer to do this.
Hi Chrissy,
Yours is the last build of Pages 4 (part of iWork '09). For me, it's a keeper—at least until the time I get to an OS X version that doesn't support it.
Yosemite is the current version of OS X. My MBPro came with Mountain Lion, the last of the cats, and I've kept it there 'til now. I'll probably upgrade eventually, but for the moment I prefer the less phone-like version I'm using.
Regards,
Barry
Hi Viking,
Thanks for the updated link. The User Guide is a useful document for those like Chrissy (and me) still using v4 (Pages '09).
Regards,
Barry
Thanks Barry/Viking, I should have realised Yosemite was the OS, have bookmarked link
Thanks
Chrissy
Thanks Barry - that did it. My version is 5.5.2
Just download the User Guide, it is a pdf, and keep it handy on your Desktop or with your Pages.
Peter
