Retina MacBookPro case not aligned

Is anyone else's 15" retina MacBookPro lid and base misaligned? Mine's off (the lid, when closed, is shifted towards the hinge of the machine) by a bit...enough to clearly feel the difference with your fingers. I've been having the creaking/cracking issue with my base that others have described, so I'm wondering if there's a correlation here. Maybe bases that weren't made right (and therefore misaligned) are also having the creaking/cracking issues.

Hey,

I have had my retina for 3 months now, nothing has went wrong with it

idk if its because i bought a case for it from here: http://www.mymacbookcase.com/140-macbook-retina-case

and kept it on since the beginning keeping it in shape

i feel these new retina are a bit more delicate from the pro's and therefore getting a case might be highly recommended.

The creaking and cracking is due to the springs that are pushed against the bottom case. Removing the bottom and replacing it reduces and sometimes eliminates the creaking and cracking because the springs normally get aligned better.

I don't get so much of the sound from the springs (I know which ones you're talking about from my previous MacBookPro), but rather a louder cracking sound from the lower right hand corner (right palm rest). It's very distinct, and louder than the sound that the springs produce. Once I get a 5-star screw driver, I plan on taking the bottom case off and putting some dielectric grease on the springs like I did to my old MBP. I've had Apple remove and re-install the bottom plate twice and it hasn't solved the issue.

It's MUCH more flimsy than my previous 17" MBP, which I don't like.

The springs are different in the retina (at least I don't remember seeing springs like this in my previous MBP, but I could be wrong). I do agree that it seems much more flimsy than cMBP.
