delete a desktop

I notice today the when I open itunes it open in a different desktop and I want to delete it; I open mission control and see the two desktop but when I hover my cusor over the desktop (with itunes open) no 'x' appears so I am unable to delete it. I like using only one desktop and don't know what to do at this point.

When you see both desktops with iTunes opened in Mission Control, do you see that the desktop where iTunes is located is named "Desktop 2" or "iTunes". If it's named "iTunes", iTunes is working in full-screen mode, so just open iTunes, move the cursor to the top right corner of the display and press the blue rectangle button to restore iTunes into a classic window
