Text Edit not syncing in iCloud between iMac and MacBook Air

Files I create on my MacBook Air in Text Edit and saved in iCloud are not viewable from my iMac and visa versa. All the built in apps (notes, Calendar, etc) sync just fine, only Text Edit is not working.

What could I have messed up?

I've tried signing out of iCloud on the MacBook Air but it didn't work.
