I have windows email docs saved as documents in my Mac (MtnLion OS). What suffix or program can I associate these files with so that I can read them?

I have windows email docs saved as documents in my Mac (MtnLion OS). What suffix or program can I associate these files with so that I can read them? (The messages that were formally migrated within mail are no problem.) The problem for which I seek a solution pertains to just those messages from windows that I've filed as documents still in their message format.

MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
