Apr 27, 2013 7:33 PM in response to Janfromflby ChrisJ4203,This support document describes what bluetooth profiles the iPhone supports http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647. I'm not sure the iPHone supports what you are trying to do. Compare the profile in the support document and check with Chrysler and see if this is what the Jeep uses for this task.

Mar 12, 2014 8:11 AM in response to Janfromflby Cisconetdude,Yes MAP is support by apple, but no Chrysler does not appear to support Apple IOS MAP, but for some reason, Android, Microsoft Phone OS works fine. HMMM take that for what its worth, I would say IMO that Apple MAP is not standard in some way. Next question does this work in other manufacture cars, HMMM not seen it working anywhere.

Aug 22, 2014 11:36 AM in response to Janfromflby Mldibble,I Just bought a 2014 Jeep. iPhone pairs fine except I cannot voice text. I called uconnect. They told me this is an apple proprietary issue. Same problem I had with my Mitsubishi. Maybe Apple should start caring about their customers and not so much about their bank roll. think I'll buy an android.

Aug 22, 2014 12:07 PM in response to Mldibbleby ChrisJ4203,If you check the post that I made above, that link shows the iPhone's Bluetooth profiles. The iPhone does support voice texting, however if you also do a search of the forum you will find a number of posters talking about issues with uconnect. You will also find most state that it is an issue with the uconnect software. Different Chrysler dealers will say different things. You may find a solution in one of the other threads.

Aug 22, 2014 12:28 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by Mldibble,Thank you for your reply. i did read everything I could find regarding the issue before posting. I did want to make sure it was not a simple fix. I am able to do everything else, make and receive calls, play music, and receive texts but it is not compatible with sending a voice text or replying to one. All other operating systems such as android and windows do work. Apple simply does not. I went through this same blame game with Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi blaming Apple, Apple blaming Mitsubishi. Bottom line, apple doesn't work when others do.

Aug 22, 2014 4:11 PM in response to Mldibbleby ChrisJ4203,Let me make sure that I am understanding you correctly. You are trying to send a voice recording, as opposed to just dictating a text? Is that correct? I guess I might have misunderstood you at the beginning. I thought you were referring to dictating and sending a text. You may be right that it is something about the iPhone, since the ability to create a voice memo, or recording of your voice is a separate operation, although you can send that like an MMS, where you attach something to a text, but that is complicated for doing while in a motor vehicle. Sorry if I misunderstood you.
