I have a Maxtor Shared Storage networked hard drive. However the software provided by Maxtor doesn't work with version 10.8.3 of OS X I have on my MacBook Air as the error message "You can’t open the application “Quick Start” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." Is there any way I can use the hard drive with Mountain Lion?

Have downloaded latest version from this site but it still gives the "PowerPC" problem.
I can open it without any problem in Mountain Lion. Try redownloading it from that page and opening Quick Start
Actually, after a delay the Maxtor appears as a "Shared" device in Finder without using the downloaded software. However, it does not appear as a back-up disk in Time Machine which is what I wnated to use it for.
