copy itunes folder to NAS drive

Hi All

Look for some advice, I am decomissioning my old windows laptop that I use to run iTunes on. I would use my Mac book pro and iMac with the libray and media on my NAS drive (My book live Duo).

I have tried to manually copy the iTunes folder from its current location to the NAS but it wont let me. If I just change the location of the directory in iTunes>>Advance prefferences>>Change location, will this setup a new location (empty) or will this copy everything across?

Once acheieved I would like to access this to synce devices either from my iMac or Mac book pro, possible?

Any other advice?

Many thanks in advance.
