S9 bluetooth sport headset issues

I have recently purchased an S9 sport bluetooth headset, an from what i've read online, I should be able to play music on my iphone 4s through it, but I cannot seem to get it to work. Can anyone help?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.2
