Is there anyway I can delete emails in bulk
iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3
First, set Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Organize by Thread to "On". That will group some emails together.
Next, you can hit the "edit" button at the upper right corner of your inbox, then start checking the rows. About 5 or 6 email threads show on a screen at a time. When you have a lot of threads checked, you can hit "delete" in the lower left.
I could delete 50 or 60 emails a minute that way.
Many thanks for your quick reply, but I was hoping for a bulk clearance, like a computer
There are two ways I could think of to do that:
1. Delete your email account from the iPhone. Do that in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [your account]
2. Restore your iPhone. Plug it in to iTunes, let it sync, then choose "Restore" from the summary tab on the right.
I'm quite certain those are the only two ways to accomplish what you're trying to do.
Many Thanks, did not think of that
Glad to help.
I wouldn't typically think of doing bulk email deletes on an iPhone either. I would think of doing that on a computer. So you got me thinking in a different direction too.
Enjoy your iPhone.
This is exactly what I want to do and can't believe there is NO select all and delete feature. Seems so elementary.
Thanks, this answered my question.
