At one time, wasn't there a "Start Backup Now" option? Where is it?

Yes, exactly like that. After some weeks of backup drive malfunction, that "Now" option did not appear when I was able to activate the drive. It is there now, and everything works fine. The important revelation for me is that the drive would not operate from a multi-USB hub. A direct plug-in to the computer was required to provide enough current.

Thanks for your input.

Yes, it's quite common for an external device such as an External Hard Drive to require more power than it can draw through a USB Hub and requires direct conection to a computer port.
