iTunes TV show downloads are slow on iPhone

TV shows download quickly on my iMac, but very very slowly on my iPhone, even though they're on the same WIFI connection. Unfortunately I've locked myself out of my own iTunes account on my iMac by logging in to a friend's account.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), 27", 2.7 GHz i5, 16GB, 1TB
