HI,

On the Mac use that Sign Out button.

Then in the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder type in ~/Library/Preferences.

In the Preferences folder find the com.apple.iMessage.bag.plist and the com.apple.imservice.iMessages.plist and drag both to the Trash.

Restart Messages and it should ask you to enter the Apple ID again.

IF this is on your home Wifi set up check the router is allowing certain ports.

iMessages uses three ports. 80 (the same and Web Browsers) 443 (same as Secure Logins in a browser and some Mail servers) - both these ports are normally always open Out-of-the-box - and port 5223

Port 5223 is above the 1024 threshold of ports that are always open.

If you router has it enable UPnP.

This will allow multiple devices to use the same ports.
