I cannot get birthday notifications to turn off. Help!

I've tried turning off birthday notifications everywhere I can and yet they still come up on my phone. I don't know what else to do! Anything I might be missing?

Calendars:

Facebook: unchecked

Other: unchecked

Default Alert Times:

Birthdays: None

Facebook settings (allowed apps):

Calendar: Off

Facebook app settings:

Birthday reminder push notifications: Unchecked

I've done all this and still the birthday notifications remain. Is there something I'm missing?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3

Go to the contact whose birthday is coming up and delete birthday from contact information

That would be all 300+ connected Facebook contacts. Going through one by one would be madness and I really do not want to disconnect FB from my phone. Is there honestly no way to turn off calendar notifications for birthdays alone?

GO to calendar app and open it tap on calendar top left untick OTher where birthday appears

Up in my first post where it says "calendar:" and "Facebook" "other" are unchecked, that has already been done. Nothing changed.

Try deleting one of the birthdays for one of the contacts in the contact app and then open the calendar and see if there is an entry for the relevant date in the calendar app

It will not allow me remove the birthday from the contact. It is grey scaled with the little Facebook logo next to it. I cannot edit or delete it. Same goes for both the "Facebook" and "Other" sections in the calendar app (minus the little FB logo).

Go to settings/general/restrictions/contacts and make sure Allow changes is ticked

Also check settings/general/restrictions/Accounts and make sure Allow changes is ticked so that you can change contacts, calendars etc

I don't believe it is iCloud because I have the calendar turned off in the iCloud settings.

Both contacts and accounts are set to allow.

You can't delete or change Birthday notification from Facebook. Because all birthday notification are pulled from contacts app directly, and users are unable to edit facebook contact info, only way to disable birthday notification from Facebook is to disable contact integration with Facebook completley.

I just successfully turned birthday notifications from Facebook on my iphone 5 by going to the calendar app on my phone, clicking "calendars" in top left corner, scroll down to "Facebook" and untick "birthdays" & below that I also unticked "birthdays" from "OTHER" category. (YAY)

This answer is spot on. For iOS7 you'll see links for Today - Calendars - Inbox at the bottom of the page on your iPhone or iPad. Hit the calendar link and you'll go to page where you can check to include Facebook events and birthdays.

@222racer and @Kevin OKeefe, this does turn off *displaying* the birthdays, but I still get buzzed daily on all birthdays in Notification Center. It is really annoying, because of course our "friends" on Facebook are really 95% in the "I don't care" category for Birthdays. So frustrating.

I also went into the Facebook app and explored settings there, nothing about accessing contact birthdays or pushing them into the phone calendar.
