i have got a mini ipad it will not let me set it up for face time but i also have got a ipod and i have got facetime on there so do i have to do something to my ipod for my mini ipod to work

Not too sure why your not being allowed to set it up, but i do know that your ipod has nothing to do with setting up your Ipad mini for facetime.
How are you trying to sey up facetime? If you can give some steps, we might see the issue.
