Set iPhone to automatically delete history?

Is there a way to set your text messages to delete if they are older than a certain date or if there are more than a certain number? My old Android had a setting to remove message history after a certain number of texts so as not to clog up the storage. Is there a way or an app to do this with? I have a lot of message history that I would hate to have to go through manually to delete.
