Disabled iPhone 5

my iphone is disabled as one of my mates thought it would be funny to try the wrong password a million times and now says connect to itunes, ive tried everything. Ive connected to itunes, it doesnt ever come up to sync, it never detects the phone. Dont know what to do??? its quite a new phone so ive never plugged it into itunes before is that why?? HELP MEEEEE
