Temporary freezes.

Hello, I was on my macbook os x (version 10.6.8) and it randomly freezes with what im doing. Like, I play games on this laptop a lot and nothing has happened in the past. About a couple days ago, it froze for about a minute or so. After that, It let me go back to my game. It has been doing that ever since and ive tried everything. I searched on how to fix this and everything, but I couldnt find a solution. So if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.
