iCloud Snow Leopard Settings using Mail

I've have found contradictory info in 2 Apple KB's..

Is this a case of either will work?

Each would seem to have different incoming and outgoing settings?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8), 15" 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 4GB AG

Follow the steps of the second link but use the server information of the first link. I know that settings from the first link work, but I'm not completely sure about the servers of the second link, because they were used by MobileMe and those servers gave problems

The server settings in the second link should not be used - they are the old MobileMe settings. Apple did at one point suggest that these would go on working, but people who stuck with them have tended to find they eventually stopped working.


The problem you may hit is that when you enter an @me.com address Snow Leopard will automatically set up for MobileMe because it's never heard of iCloud. This page details the setup procedure you should follow:
