Why can't I save pictures on my iphone5
When I see a picture and press and hold to save it, it doesn't save.

No, if someone post a picture and I press on the pic the option comes up to save or share. I save it but it doesn't save to my camera roll.

Any picture posted on Facebook, email or web. I can't save a picture to my camera roll.
Are you doing a screenshot, holding down the home/sleep button for a second.
That way it saves to your camera roll. Try it and tell what the result is.
