Excel .xlsx files

Hi mirage,

Numbers '09 can open .xls and .xlsx files. Numbers can export files to .xls format.

Not all Excel features are supported in Numbers, Not all Numbers features are supported in Excel. Some features are handled differently by the two applications.

If you need to read Excel documents, chances are good that you will be abe to open and read them. If you need to edit the docue=ments and return them in Excel format, the picture is less rosey. There will be changes to the file itself due to the translation in each direction. If the file is to go back and forth, you will likely have better reults using MS Excel (Mac) or one of the open source Office applications, Apache OpenOffice, Libre Office, or Neo Office.

If you MUST do businss in Excel why not purchase MS Office so you can do your work? I like Numbers and when I have to collaborate with others who use excel it is MUCH easier to use Excel.
