How can I stop Quicktime being the default player for online MP3s

When I install Quicktime Pro on my PC (Win7 Professional), using IE9, it sets itself up as the default player for all online media - MP3s, MP4s, WAVs etc.

How can I stop that without uninstalling? It's too slow and clumsy and I want to use a different player for online media.

PC Dell Vostro, Windows XP Pro

Hi Green-Shoot,

I understand that you are wanting to remove Quicktime as the default player. We would want to edit this option within the "Default Programs" control panel in Windows.

The following article outlines how to make iTunes the default player:

iTunes for Windows: How to make iTunes the default application for music and audio files in Windows Vista and Windows 7

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3202

Note: To make a different application the default media player, follow these same steps and select the application you want to use. iTunes for Windows can be configured to notify you if iTunes is not the default player for audio files.

Cheers!
