I listen to podcasts on the podcasts app. Whenever I put some new music on my phone from iTunes, it deletes all of my podcasts from my phone. How do i stop this?

I download the podcasts straight on to my iPhone, but they sync to my laptop anyway. Every time my iPhone is connected to iTunes so I can put a song on, all of th podcasts on my phone vanish, and I have to re-download them all. It's getting annoying.
