How to import photos to iPhoto on iPad 2 from MBPro

I have two events on my MBPro which I would like to import on my iPad 2 iPhoto. When I try to sync through iTunes on my MBPro, sync is greyed in Devices. Photo Stream does not place them on the iPad.

I would appreciate your help.
