Itunes will not open on computer says it has stopped working and it must be closed. My computer tells me its an incompatible app. Is there a problem with the new itunes or is it my computer?

I have recently downloaded the new itunes. My computer will open itunes but then a screen pops up that says Itunes has stopped working and must close. This happens every time and i can not by pass it. I am afraid all my music is gone as well. I found on my computer that its an incompatible app. What does that mean exactly? Was itunes installed incorrectly? I have had itunes on my computer before and worked just fine and had no problems. Is it possibly a computer issue or Itunes? Need help thanks

Not completely sure. But if you think it is an iTunes issue...... follow through this: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

ALSO, if you feel like all your music will be gone as well follow through these 2:

> Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

> How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer

IF YOU THINK ITS A COMPUTER ISSUE, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE DOING ALL THIS.

Thanks for the help.

thought it could be a compatibility issue, Troubleshooter on my computer says itunes is incompatible but i am not sure for what.

Also when i downloaded itunes quickTime never installed on my computer i have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the same things are still there.

My itunes worked perfectly until i had to install the new one.

I did had a similar issue like this before caused by uninstalling and reinstalling itunes..... i just don't remember much.
