USB Drives Write Protected on my MacBook Pro

I cannot write anything to any USB drive or cannot delete anything. This happens on USB hard drives and pen drives.

Is there any protection on Mac?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), 13" Intel Core i5

Plop your USB in a Windows machine, download and instal Rufus..

With the default settings do a Quick Format with the USB that Apple won't let you do anything with. It cleans your USB and removes

the pesky write protection completely. Plop your USB back in your Mac and erase and normal functionality is restored.
