Q: migration assistant not assisting?

can someone make a suggestion on how to get mypc to link with imac so i can transfer files to imac.

my PC reads"waiting for your mac to connect"

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

You might want to consider manually transferring the files because some users have reported using Migration Assistant creates a new user account so the files aren't accessible by your current Mac user account. The link discusses how to do a manual transfer.
