update gone wrong

my phone is in recovery mode after trying to update and it becoming disconnected. I do not want to restore the phone and lose everything....what do I do???

If the phone is in recovery mode, everything is already lost. Restore the phone and restore from your latest backup.

If you have synced you phone or backed it up, there is a good chance most of you information can be recovered after your phone is erased by simply syncing it back again. Also if you have been using iCloud, you can recover your data from that as well.
