Drawing too much power from the battery

I had my ipad plugged into my computer to charge it and I got a message that said it was drawing too much power, even though it was plugged in, and it disabled my ipad from charging. Now my computer won't charge either my ipad or my phone. I just recently upgraded my software to OS 10.8.3. How do I fix this problem?

Hello kmp1813,

Good morning!

It sounds like you're charging your iPad by connecting it to a USB port on your MacBook Pro.

If the message "Not Charging" appears in the status bar next to the battery icon, see this article for more information about charging your iPad:

One quick fix is to charge your iPad using the USB Power Adapter provided in the box.
