How to add music from a second computer to my iPhone 5

iPhone sync only with one computer, if you sync with another, you iPhone content will be replace with whatever is on the second computer.

If there's no DRM on the song , you can copy the songs to a USB stick/CD/Diskette and import it to your iTunes library and then you sync from there.

You cannot. You can only use one music library on the iPhone at a time, even when manually managing music. You can share your two music libraries via Home sharing if they are on the same network. See this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819 about Home Sharing.

But you CAN do this. Just copy the songs from one computer to the other, then import them into iTunes. Very easy to do.

There's an app called AnyTrans that does this much better than itunes.

It's silly to have to get a 3rd party app to take care of basic functions but Apple loves to make life difficult.

If you want to transfer music on two or more computers(libraries), I have found a trick/solution!

1. simply connect your iphone to any other comuter and open itunes

2. open explorer or finder and find the music u want to copy onto iphone/idevice

3. select the music u want then press ctrl-c

4. go back to itunes and select your idevice

5. click on music( in your idevice)

6. press ctrl-v

vloila it starts copying them over.

To add music from another computer you are not synced to all you have to do is create a new playlist within iTunes and rename that whatever you want.

Then open up your iPhone and go to the "On This iPhone" tab where in the bottom ribbon you will see "Autofill From:"

Select the playlist you just created and click Autofill and there you go!

Follow these steps to transfer music from pc to iPhone:

Launch iPhone Transfer.

Connect iPhone to computer.

Click Media > Music > Add. Choose what you want to transfer from computer to your iPhone.

When your device is plugged in and you're in iTunes: Go to your device summary tab, scroll down and click on "Manually manage music and videos". This worked for me.

ok so let's say my laptop dies, which my iphone 5s is synched to, now i have to erase it to add music from my tower? LAME!!!

and yes, i can copy music from my tower, to a thumb drive or hard drive to my iphone. but sometimes i just don't want to have to deal with that bs. i should be able to add MY music from MY computers.

my laptop is backed up. it's my 64 gig phone and all the hours it took to fill it with music I don't care to relive. thanks for helping me solve this issue with your huge brain which seems to be filled with endless witty banter.

I have the same problem. Had an extensive library on my old MacBook. The computer was stolen from me so I bought a new 13" retina. Transferred my old tunes (from a backup disk) to the new computer, but now won't let me add any songs to iPhone/iPod.

Drag/Drop won't work and neither will iExplorer. I'm worried to syn because it might delete all my apps etc...

Any advice?

You shouldn't have to move your music all over the place. Sometimes you have things stored on several computers and you shouldn't have to take the time to move it all into one system that might just die on you and then have to put it all onto something new and erase your iPhone just to reupload it all.

Why can you authorize multiple computers on your account and not add from those computers??? I have my work computer and my home computer and I have files on both but now I have to move them from place to place just to get the files on my phone? This sounds like antiquated technology!
