Q: update ipod from win8

Trying to use an older I pod in a Crestron rack in my flat I get problems with communicating to the wall panel. Just to verify that it is not necessary to buy a new Ipod I want to make shure that my Ipod is updated. How do I do that from a PC running win8 64 bit. I store is installed.

    For older iPods, you should not expect any recent software updates from Apple. 

     

    Connect the iPod and run iTunes.  Select the iPod in iTunes, so that its Summary screen is showing in the iTunes window.  Where it shows the software version, there is a Check for Update button.
