Since the 3.4.4 update Aperture no longer erases the files on the memory card or ejects the memory card after an import regardless of the setting of the checkbox to eject the card. What broke and when will it be fixed?
I still get the eject/erase dialog after import on 3.4.4. It's been fine with 3 or 4 imports I've done.
Note that I recommend you NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use the erase in the dialog. You should reformat in camera. Really. Not kidding.
I do get the dialog and it looks like it is working but it doesn't. I'm less concerned about erase as I almost always do format the card in camera anyway but I've been surprisued twice now with OS X saying I removed the card improperly after I told Aperture to eject it and waited plenty long enough.

The main concern is about erasing the card, before you can check thoroughly, if all images have been imported correctly. I never erase the card, before I have made a backup of the card and opened each of the images that I want to keep at least once on Aperture.

Can you eject the card from the Finder?
Yes, I am working around the problem by ejecting from finder or the desktop for now. it took me two "surprises" before I realized the issue was not user error but once I did I started ejecting by other means before removing the card.
Import broken in 3.4.4 update?
