three users on one apple id makes contacts a mess! what to do?

having three iPhones connected to my apple id and icloud makes it confusing having overlapping contacts with three different users. The only way I can think of to eliminate the confusion is to create a new apple id and migrate my iPhone to the new one and transfer my contacts.

Is there a better way?
