my projector epson does not detect my apple TV HDMI signal

Hi,

I've just bought a projector epson EH-TW480, a blue ray player and an apple TV.

my projector works quite well with my blue ray player but for some reason it seems to have difficulties detecting the

HDMI signal from my apple TV.

To make it work, I usually have to reboot the apple TV a couple of time and keep switch the HDMI cable between the blue ray player and the apple TV.

(I sometime shake my rain-stick just in case)

At some point, the projector seems to detect the HDMI signal from the apple TV and it starts working.

It takes a while though.

Any idea why ?

I have an apple TV gen 2.

The HDMI cable works just fine with my blue ray player (5m long)

once it works, the quality is great.

If anybody has any idea about what's going on, please let me know,

Regards,

Nicolas

AppleTV's have always been fickle about HDMI even when other devices are not.

If you have another HDMI lead try it as some leads that work fine with other devices completely throw AppleTV.

I see it's a 720p HD ready projctor. If AppleTV video setting are set to Auto try setting to either 720p 50H or 60 Hz to see if it manages any better.
