no safari choice
I have safari 6.04 a os 10.75 but do not get safari showing up in my icloud pane through system preferences.
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
iCloud tabs requires OS X Mountain Lion.

That's because it's not there. You must be running 10.8.2 or later in order to use that feature as described here:
Minimum operating system requirements
You may also use iCloud with the following operating system versions:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
iOS 5*
Mac
OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later*
PC
Microsoft Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)
* Note: Although you can use iOS 5 and OS X Lion as noted above,
you will not be able to take advantage of some iCloud features
