My son has locked his iPhone and now he can't remember the pass code. What can I do

I tried holding the sleep button and the off button but it says iPhone disabled connect to iTunes
If I took it to the apple store could they fix it

Did you try all of the things in the areticle I gave you? Yes a genius in an Apple store will be able to fix this for you

Thank y'all for the advice. I tried everything y'all said and it still said iPhone disabled. We r going to birmingham this weekend and I will take it to the apple store. Will I need to make an appt. or do can i just walk in
Make an appointment.
Pull up itunes and make sure itunes is updated
Plug in your usb to computer...do not plug into phone yet
Press the power button and swipe to power off-do NOT let the phone shut down and quickly press the home button and hold onto the home button while connecting usb to iPhone and continue to hold the home button until you get connect to itunes show up on your phone.
Then follow restore options in itunes to restore
