May 4, 2013 1:53 PM in response to Sarahbutler3348by sheila_m.,Hello Sarahbutler3348,
I found an article with the steps you need! You can delete your credit card information from your Apple ID by following the steps in the following article:
iTunes Store: Changing account information
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1918
That article will guide you to the Payment Information section on your iOS device or iTunes on your computer, and once there, you can select None.
Note: The payment methods that the iTunes Store accepts can be found in the payment type section. If you do not want a payment method on your account, select None in the payment type section.
Best,
Sheila M.

Sep 10, 2013 9:40 PM in response to oohlalagirlby SNES3,Why do you want to delete it? If it is because you wish to add another credit card, or addiotional payment method, you simply need to modify it. Maybe you wish to close the iTunes account entirely? If this is the case then, it can not been done (at least not to my knowledge). You could try just editing your payment method so that it is blank, and then never using the account again .

Mar 7, 2014 4:39 PM in response to Sarahbutler3348by Mama328,No option to delete a card at all!
I have redeemed iTunes cards and tho the balance is showing on my account, payments still come from my credit card and no option to switch to the iTunes card!
Very poor service apple!!!!!

Mar 12, 2014 1:41 AM in response to Mama328by JamesR404,Yes, we can't delete the card. That threw me off as well. But what Sheila_m says is accurate. It took me a few times before I saw it, but you can click on None that's on the top middle and then Done, and your credit card details will be gone.
Here I made a screenshot to show where the None button is currently...;
Hope this helps! ^^

May 5, 2014 9:16 PM in response to Tacoburritoby ssschmidt,In your case (Tacoburrito), it is because a past purchase failed due to your card being declined (The red text on the right side of your image. If your account is current, there will be a "none" option. Until your account is current you will not be able to download ANY updates or content (free or otherwise).
Good Luck.

May 6, 2014 2:32 AM in response to ssschmidtby DayCreecher,I'm havering the same problem and when I checked my purchase history it says I dont have any purchases is there something I'm missing or not doing right?

May 27, 2014 1:48 PM in response to Sarahbutler3348by ThoughtBender,I didn't have "none" as an option either. I ended up having to put in bogus information. Just use the first four digits of your credit card number and then make up the remainder. It is absolutely despicable that Apple tries to prevent customers from removing this info. They know, just as we all do, that these devices are in the hands of our kids who "accidentally" buy things from the Apple Store. And there is nothing preventing them from doing it. So enjoy your little extra micro-transactions Apple, at the cost of your integrity and morals.
