I had to do a reset on my phone after Contacts mysteriously disappeared. I cannot figure out how to allow the number percentage of remaining battery power to display again. The icon displays, but I want to see the actual number, i.e. 76%

If you do the following:
1) Goto Settings
2) Goto General
3) Select Usage
4) Scroll down and under "Battery Usage" there is a slider to show battery percentage.
