Is this factory unlocking thing legit? I want to unlock my iphone 4 locked to a carrier called tigo in Guatemala City. Could anyone tell me if this is legal and does apple support this? If so, how can i get this factory unlock option? (I'm new to the community so i'm not sure if asking as boldly as this is ok :P)

Only the carrier the phone is locked to can officially authorize an unlock. Make contact with them and see if you qualify and what you have to do.

Don't waste your time contacting Tigo, as they do not offer official unlocking for the iPhone, & they are the only ones that could authorize the unlocking of your phone, but they won't.

There is no way to get your phone officially unlocked.
