Q: No AirPlay icon on MacBook - should have it!

My MacBook Pro is late 2011, but has no AirPlay icon. How do I enable AirPlay? It is supposed to be supported by this Mac. I'd like to use the mirroring feature with Apple TV.

Go into your system preferences and click on the display icon then make sure the AirPlay Mirroring is on,

Thanks for your reply, but it didn't help. Display only gave me resolution options. The tech guy at my last job set it up, I'm thnking he did something to it regarding the network, as I also can't enable my bluetooth and there are other networking issues with it.

You need to purchase OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion from the app store to get mirror or look at a third party app called airparrot.
