Shape not repelling text

I'm trying to get the text to be repelled upward by a shape (an arrow), but no matter how I set it up, I can't seem to get it to do anything besides get covered up by the upward moving shape. Here is the set up. Any help would be much appreciated. I just started using motion and I'm sure there's a simple solution to my problem.

Put all your text in one group.

Put the shape that will be the Repel From source in another group.

Apply Repel From behavior to the Group containing your text.

Make sure you check the Affect Subobjects checkbox in the Repel From behavior inspector!

PS: You DID add the shape to the Object source well in the Repel From behavior, didn't you??
