    Download what type of previously purchased items ? Ringtones and audiobooks are currently one-time only downloads, but, if they are still in the store then you should be able to re-download apps via the Purchased tab in the App Store app (if you have the relevant iOS version on your iPad), ibooks via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, and potentially music, films and tv shows via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app (it's not possible to re-download media in all countries).
