Macbook pro bluetooth sony stereo

Need assistance regarding a bluetooth connection between my MACbook PRO and a Sony Stereo.Im not quite sure of the model, but I do know its a more recent model bought out of the box from best buy, seems to automatically connect with everything or easily findable on my Iphone but no luck with my Laptop; wirelessly or manually.
